ReplyDeleteThis was a bold attempt. The combination of abstract form and abstract concept may be too much for a lot of readers, but good on you for pressing out the boundaries. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm struck by the placement of the two 'main groups,' first 'you didn't die / Everything / that universe was' and then, lower and as if to the side, 'never really / existed for you at all / a long distance'. It makes me think about a past relationship of vastly unequal feelings.

James, Yes I thought it might be a little out there. I'm sort of fleshing out the boundaries. Calder's a definitely an acquired taste. I' currently working on pushing it even further by doing a painting with a Calder as the diptych panel. The trick will be to keep the poem out of the visual realm while using the imagery to tease the associative properties. I'll post a picture when I'm done.
